DIRECT VISION STANDARD (DVS)
The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) is a set of regulations designed to improve road safety by ensuring that commercial vehicles, such as lorries and trucks, offer better visibility for drivers, especially when navigating busy urban environments. The standard measures how much a driver can see directly from the cab, without relying on mirrors or cameras, focusing on eliminating blind spots that can be hazardous to pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users. Vehicles are rated on a star system, with higher ratings indicating better visibility.
